AmazingCo Mystery Picnic Review
If you love to picnic, but also love a bit of adventure make sure to check out AmazingCo Mystery Picnic. This activity was one of our all time favourite days out in the city with the kids. We got to explore a whole lot of Melbourne that we had never seen before even as locals!
Here you can find everything you need to know about the AmazingCo Mystery Picnics in Melbourne and why you should try one yourself.
What is an AmazingCo Mystery Picnic?

The concept of a Mystery Picnic is simple but absolutely brilliant. You are given a series of clues to solve that lead you to a range of different places to explore the area and pick up your picnic goodies.
The final location of the day is a beautiful and spot where you can relax, enjoy your picnic and soak up the surroundings.
The mystery element adds a sense of adventure and excitement to the experience. You never know where you’re going until you get there, so it’s perfect for families who love a bit of mystery and surprise.
We booked the Melbourne Laneways AmazingCo Mystery Picnic which is a walking tour.

However, there are so many different options from the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges to Geelong and the Great Ocean Road. Check them out here>>>>
The Melbourne Laneways Mystery Picnic is such a fun and unique way to explore the city like never before.
We don’t want to give too much away about the actual adventure, however below we can tell you what to expect with your AmazingCo Mystery Picnic.
The Experience

The clue for the starting location is sent the night before the experience which is great as you know where to start.
The clues are challenging but not too difficult, many of them we got the kids to do and they were able to solve, but there were a few tricky ones we had to help out with and really think about.
If you really can’t answer though there are clues to make it easier. And if eventually you are really stuck, you can access the answer.

You visit a range of different places. It’s pretty much a mini adventure solving riddles and following directions. Melbourne is such a big city and there are so many little laneways to explore.

It is great fun picking up different foods, visiting various markets, cafes, landmarks while exploring the most popular laneways of Melbourne.

The last clue sends you to a secret picnic location to finish your day. Ours was a stunning garden with a breathtaking view of the city.

We set up our picnic blanket with the goodies we had collected. We had a great platter of different meats, cheeses, dips, appetisers and bread etc. Then also a range of sweet treats too!

We spent a few hours enjoying our picnic, playing trivia games on the app, and taking in the stunning surroundings. It was a truly unforgettable experience and something we would never have thought to do on our own.
What to take on your Melbourne Mystery Picnic
There are a few things to bring along with you to make it more comfortable:
- Good walking shoes
- Phone (to access your clues)
- Picnic Mat
- Picnic basket if you can carry it otherwise a large bag will do
- Ice cooler if it is a warm day to keep your food cool
- Cutlery (One of the places gave us some paper cutlery but just in case)
- Bread and cheese knives
- Paper plates/cups and serviettes
- Notepad and pen to help solve your clues
The Picnic Food

The food itself was a highlight of the experience. There was something for everyone, including vegetarian and gluten-free options.
A few of the places we visited had our items ready to go already packed up, such as our meats, cheeses, dips, crackers etc conveniently already in containers.
At other places, we were given the choice of selecting certain items according to our taste such as our pastries, deserts, and drinks. Having a choice is great as everything likes different things.
The kids loved going to each place and picking up different items.

The portions are generous, and of fantastic quality, they really have chosen the best possible! We had plenty of delicious food and our bellies were all full. Honestly have no complaints about anything, it was all amazing.
Value for Money
The AmazingCo Mystery Picnic is a premium experience, but it is excellent value for money. The price includes all of your food, the clues, and the experience itself, which is a unique and unforgettable adventure.
It’s also worth noting that you can customise your picnic to suit your budget and preferences. So if you feel like a sneaky bottle of wine you can add that in too and pay extra. Or you can just bring your own if you want to carry it around.
Overall, we had an incredible experience with AmazingCo Mystery Picnics. It was the perfect activity for our family, and we loved the sense of adventure and mystery that came with it.
If you’re looking for a unique and unforgettable way to explore Melbourne and its hidden gems, we highly recommend the AmazingCo Mystery Picnic. It’s an experience that you won’t forget, and we can’t wait to book our next adventure in a new location.
