The Art of Banksy : “Without Limits” Exhibition, Melbourne
If you’re a fan of Banksy, enjoy street art or appreciate a bit of social commentary, the Art of Banksy: “Without Limits” exhibition is well worth a visit.

For those of you who aren’t in the know about Banksy don’t feel too bad because really, no one is. ‘Banksy’ is a pseudonym for an England based street artist and political activist who up until this point hasn’t been publically named. There are plenty of theories but nothing concrete except the walls he stencils on.
There are more than 180 pieces including prints, sculptures and a timeline about Banksy’s work that gives a great overview of his art and social commentary. 70 pieces on display are certified Banksy originals. The space has been interactively curated with projections and moving pictures of the iconic girl with the red balloon.
All ages are welcome and being a big kid at heart, I know the kids will like spotting all of the stencilled rats around the exhibition.

Located in the District Docklands, there is plenty of space to take in the exhibition which feels more like an experience than a trip to a typical gallery. It’s very easy to access by public transport with the 70 tram stopping right outside the front door of the centre. There’s free 90 minute parking at ‘The District’ on weekdays and evenings. After that parking is $4 an hour. There are also plenty of great places to grab a meal before or after you visit the exhibition.
For those of you who want to follow in Banksy’s style and do some good, the exhibition will honour World Refugee Week from June 16-22, and note Banksy’s activism for refugees, 10% of every Premium ticket purchase will be donated to the Louis Michel Foundation.
