ArtVo Melbourne – The 3D Trick Art Gallery That Will Blow Your Mind
ArtVo is the new 3D Art Gallery in Melbourne that will blow your mind. This immersive exhibit of “trick art” located at the District Docklands, is the first of its kind in Australia.
If you are looking for something unique to do with the kids in Melbourne, and introduce them to some spectacular art, then ArVo is the perfect place to spend the morning or afternoon.
ArtVo Melbourne
ArtVo Melbourne hosts over 100 hand painted 3D artworks painted by 14 artists with over 40 years’ experience. They completed this 1900 square metre space in just 60 days!
Each wall has been especially created to produce a 3D effect when you take a photo from the designated marker on the floor and position your camera or phone in the specified manor.
Unlike your usual art museum, you can touch and interact with more than a hundred 3D artworks immersing yourself.
We saw a something similar on our family trip to Hong Kong not long ago, but it was a small exhibition. This gallery in Melbourne took it to the next level.
Tips for Taking the Best Photos
Many of the artworks are self-explanatory, but there are also boards which show you how to take the photo to get the best effect.
- Make sure to use for the photo point on the ground.
- Rather than smile in every photo, pull different faces to immerse yourselves and become the artworks.
- Follow the instructions on how to position your camera (landscape or portrait).
- Take a few different photos in different poses.
- Let the kids take photos of each other.
- Get creative and have fun.
3D Art Gallery in Melbourne for families
ArtVo Melbourne is perfect for visiting as a family and one of the most unique museums in Melbourne. Toddlers and young children, as well as older children and adults can all enjoy this immersive 3D art gallery together.
There is pram access and plenty of space to walk around. It is doable in an hour or two depending on how long you stay at each artwork so perfect for those with small attention spans.
You can make a day of it at the District Docklands as there are plenty of other things to see and do in the area for families too.
You can go Ice Skating at Obrien Ice House, take a ride on the Melbourne Star, do some shopping, or head out for dinner to one of the various restaurants.
