1. Loch Ard Gorge Beach, Great Ocean Road

Kicking off our list of the best beaches in Victoria is Loch Ard Gorge. It is one of the most popular stops along the Great Ocean Road, just a few minutes up the road from the famous Twelve Apostles.
It has a gorgeous beach looking out to two cliff faces which is accessible by stairs, and is a beautiful and mostly quiet swimming spot. Loch Ard Gorge makes a great stop along your road trip. There are plenty of walks, and view points for that perfect photo too.
2. Lorne Beach, Great Ocean Road
Another favourite holiday spot in Victoria, and home to one of the best beaches in Victoria is Lorne. Generally safe, and great for families.
Summer time brings holiday goers to Lorne for the swimming, surfing, and various other water activities as well as hiking and chasing waterfalls.

3. Torquay Beach, Great Ocean Road

Torquay (just past Geelong) is your gateway to the Great Ocean Road, and only just over an hour from Melbourne. There are two main beaches.
The front beach is perfect for families as it is well sheltered and the water is calm enough for swimming. There is lots of grass area, perfect for picnics and BBQs.
The Back beach is perfect for surfers, or those who want to learn to surf. The beach is well patrolled, but always remember to swim between the flags.
4. Brighton Beach

Brighton Beach is one of Melbourne’s most iconic Beaches, housing the bright and beautiful bathing boxes.
Just 15mins from the city, it is a popular spot for tourists and locals to relax on the sand or take a dip in the bay.
5. Half Moon Bay

One of Melbourne’s best beaches is Half Moon Bay, located at Black Rock on the South East Coast. A quiet sandy beach with a relaxing atmosphere and beautiful water, Half Moon Bay gets it’s name from its crescent shape.

8. Wiskey Bay, Wilsons Promontory

One of Wilsons Promontory’s iconic locations is the famous Squeeky Beach. It got it’s name for a reason, it squeeks! Yes that’s right. Run along the sand and you will hear it squeak beneath your feet.
You can arrive to Squeeky Beach by a range of short walks with stunning coastal views. At the North end you will notice the stunning rock formations. And the beautiful white sand, leads to the turquoise waters will just take your breathe away.

One of the longest beaches in the world and one of the best beaches in Victoria is 90-Mile Beach, which is a natural, beautiful, unspoiled stretch of beach facing the Bass Straight that backs the Gippsland lakes.
