Bicentennial Park Playground, Chelsea
A great playground and park is a staple in the plans of any young family and we have a favourite go-to playground at Bicentennial Park Chelsea which has all the features needed to keep kids entertained all day.

Bicentennial Park Playground, Chelsea
One of the best playgrounds in Melbourne’s South East, the Bicentennial playground offers a variety of features for different skill levels.
You can find everything you would expect and more. There are the classic playground features such as the different sized slides for older and younger kids, a shaded sand pit, monkey bars, swings etc.

There is also a hammock, stand on spinners, climbing frame, steppingstones, flying fox, express train with ticket booth, and our favourite, the Smurf Village!

There are three huts being the music, story and play hut.
Within the village there is also a large cow which is supposed to moo, however was not working last time we visited – I am sure it gets lots of young attention and we can relate to the need for rest.

The kids will expend lots of energy here whilst having lots of fun – a perfect combination.
The playground is suited to all ages with fencing to secure the little ones, whilst the older bunch entertain themselves at the skate park, playing fields, DJ Spinner and exercise equipment nearby.
There are shelters with BBQs, tables, drinking fountains, toilets and seats (including our favourite the wonderful curved lounge seats).

The playground is popular for kid’s parties and family gatherings and offers free parking, however it does get busy at more popular times.
Spend the day and bring a picnic to share with the family or your dog who can run in part of the park within the large fenced off leash dog park.
In need of a bit more exercise? Take a walk with kilometres of walking and bike trails which surround the playground.
Bicentennial park was developed in 2010. However, the addition of the new skate park, multicourt soccer/basketball area, stage and DJ table was included in 2017.
