Cairns Zoom & Wildlife Dome | Cairns Attractions Review
One of the best things to do in Cairns is the Cairns Zoom & Wildlife Dome. This must-see attraction allows you to get up close to a range of native animals, pat a crocodile and a snake, and for the thrill-seekers, you can participate in a rope climbing course and zipline.

Cairns Zoom & Wildlife Dome
The Cairns Zoom and Wildlife Dome hosts the world’s first high ropes course in a wildlife park. Located in the heart of Cairns CBD, it makes a great day or half day out for the whole family.
There are a range of opportunities for animal encounters, lots of wildlife presentations, and of course the adventure zoom rope courses with three zip lines, one which takes you directly over Goliath, the 4 metre saltwater crocodile!
The paths around the park are pram friendly which makes it a great family friendly day out for all ages. You are free to walk around and check everything out.
Wildlife Experiences

There is plenty of wildlife to see at the Cairns Zoom and Wildlife Dome. You can wander through the wildlife park at your own pace and enjoy a range of native Australian animals including koalas, kookaburras, birds, snakes, crocodiles and more.

There are different presentations during the day so make sure to check the schedule so you can plan to see the ones you want. The feeding show with the crocodile is a must see.
You may even get lucky to touch a crocodile or snake!

There are bird aviaries where you can get up close to lots of different birds, watching them fly freely around the dome too.

Cairns Zoom

There are two different rope course options depending on your age and ability.
- The Mid-ZOOM course is an easier course suitable for young kids or beginners. It is 3 metres above the ground and has a range of different elements including climbing walls, a cargo net, swings, climbing walls and a zipline. Participants must be 120cm tall and minimum 6 years old for Mid-Zoom.
- Hi-Zoom is one for the older kids and adults as you need to be at least 140cms tall for this one (or accompanied by someone who is). At almost 12 metres above the ground, it offers a greater level of difficulty with more complex crossings and three ziplines, one which takes you directly over Goliath the crocodile!

Dome Climb & Power Jump
For thrill seekers there are a couple of other fun activities including the Dome climb which offers some of the best views of Cairns. Walk around the 60cm wide platform up high viewing the city from all angles.
Once you are ready to head inside, you will get a birds eye view of the Dome before heading down. You can either take the stair case, or try the Power Jump, a free fall adventure where you jump off a 13m high tower attached by a rope.
