This winter in Melbourne make sure to head to the ‘Bourne Winter Market in Collingwood.
Located in a what was formerly a car showroom on Hoddle Street, Collingwood, the Bourne Local Winter Market will feature hundreds of local artists and makers, as well space to hang out and listen to some live music, and enjoy some gourmet foodie offerings.
The first market will be held on Sunday, July 31 with a special Twilight edition in December and will offer up new curated surprises every month, including some delicious mulled wine!
We walked away with gourmet dog treats, a handmade glass necklace, gorgeous sweets, a sparkly beanie and a mermaid doll.
There is something for everyone and it’s so great to actually talk to the people who made the products. Everyone took such pride in what they had to offer.
The walls are decorated with colourful graffiti art and there is an area to the side with lots of ping pong tables.
For the kiddies (big and old), there is a Roller Disco Rink where families will love rolling and jiving to local music makers as well as face painting as well!
I highly recommend planning to eat there as well. I had some very yummy Jamaican jerk chicken which isn’t always easy to find in Melbourne. Seriously outstanding! The kids were excited for fish & chips and donuts.
There was a vegan stall and bar set up with loads of picnic tables and a live jazz band.
If things get too overwhelming for the kids there is even a little chill out area with bean bag seats and a movie screen.
There is 2hour parking along Hoddle St but it’s pretty busy so try and go early to get a park or it’s about a 10 minute walk from the North Richmond Station.
