Crystal World Melbourne: Free Dinosaurs, Crystals, Fossils and More
Crystal World in Devon Meadows is a huge crystal and fossil exhibition centre in Melbourne’s south east, filled with gemstones, minerals, fossils, meteorites and other fascinating finds from around the world.
But it’s not just about crystals. There’s also a Dinosaur Garden filled with life size dinosaur models, plus Rosie the Great White Shark, and one of the best things about visiting is that entry is completely FREE.

Explore the Crystal World Dinosaur Garden
For families, the outdoor Dinosaur Garden is definitely one of the highlights.
Kids can wander among giant dinosaur models including favourites such as T-Rex, Triceratops and Velociraptors, with plenty of opportunities for photos along the way.

We love that this part of Crystal World is completely free to explore. You can simply wander through the gardens at your own pace, making it a great option when you’re looking for an affordable family day out.

Crystals, Fossils, Meteorites and Gems
Inside Crystal World you’ll find an enormous collection of crystals, gemstones, fossils, minerals and meteorites from Australia and around the world.
There are displays everywhere you look, from colourful crystals and sparkling geodes to unusual fossils and geological specimens.
Our kids always love looking through the different rocks and gems and choosing their favourites. There are plenty of smaller affordable crystals available to buy too, as well as some absolutely enormous pieces that are impressive just to see.

Meet Rosie the Great White Shark
One of Crystal World’s most unusual attractions is Rosie the Shark, a preserved Great White Shark on display at the centre.
Rosie was rescued from the abandoned Wildlife Wonderland attraction and relocated to Crystal World, where visitors can now see her up close.
It is certainly not something you expect to find while visiting a crystal shop!
Free Things to Do in Melbourne with Kids

Crystal World is one of those quirky Melbourne attractions that has a little bit of everything.
Whether your kids are obsessed with dinosaurs, love collecting rocks and crystals, are fascinated by fossils or simply enjoy exploring somewhere different, there is plenty to look at.
You might end up purchasing a crystal or two, but you don’t need to spend anything to enjoy the experience.
