Darling Gardens and Playground is conveniently located within walking distance of South Yarra station. It is a picturesque area with views of the city and the Yarra River.
It’s the perfect location, in front of the Yarra River, to enjoy a day out with BBQ facilities readily available, plenty of seating and public toilets located within the gardens.
The playground suits toddlers through to young teens. It is accessible via Alexandra Avenue for visitors with prams and accessibility requirements.
For those looking for a challenge, entrance to the park via Darling Street is met with a steep hill. Your child may decide to roll down the hill straight to the playground.
A small water fountain, bins and disposable pet bags are available to those bringing along their furry friends. Dogs must remain on leash within the garden area. There is no off-leash area.
Securely gated, the playground offers multiple play areas. There are three swings available to suit toddlers, pre-schoolers, and school aged children.
Behind the set of swings is a hammock style swing for young children and everyone young at heart.
Children can choose to challenge their fitness on multiple balance beams, leading them on to the top of the playground.
From there they have the options to slide down, using any of the two slides available on either ends of playground, or opt for a webbed obstacle.
A set of monkey bars, climbing webs and a flying fox will keep your child entertained throughout the day.
There is a children’s play shop and driving section for them to explore. A colourful set of OXO spinners makes for a great game between siblings or friends.
With plenty of greenery surrounding the playground, there is the option to take a picnic and enjoy the breathetaking views and fresh air.
