Duke of Wellington Pub Melbourne
Since the Duke of Wellington Pub reopened in 2023, I have walked past many times and thought how I wanted to try it out. It looked so nice inside I wasn’t sure if taking two little kids to eat was the greatest idea. We decided to give it a go and I sure regret that I waited so long!

Established in 1853, Melbourne’s oldest licenced pub is beautiful inside with three stories and multiple spaces for any kind of drinking or dining experience you are looking for.

The Public Bar on the ground level is perfect for a pint and catching up on all of the sports. I also must point out we were greeted by the bartender with a huge smile and welcome when we walked in which is always nice.
Arthur’s Bar in level one has that throwback cocktail bar feel and is a great spot to grab a drink or snack before a show.

The Rooftop is super popular with great views of the CBD. There are also some cool private spaces you can book for functions.

We ate in the Dining Room, right by the window overlooking the CBD, a perfect spot for those in my family who like spotting all the cool cars driving by.
I definitely should not have worried about bringing the kids. The staff was super friendly and brought our colouring pages straight away. There were loads of families enjoying the pub.

Ordering is available right from your table via The Pass on your phone BUT if you struggle with technology don’t stress at all. The servers are keen to help and can easily take your order the old fashioned way.
The menu has a range of options and lunch was delicious!

The highlights were the Steak Tartare, Old School Aged Pork Chop and the Sticky Toffee Pudding. (I should have ordered my own pudding instead of fighting over one piece with my husband).

My very picky kids loved the chicken bites. Usually it’s a fight to get them to eat anything more than chips but they loved the chicken, Hooray!

There is an elevator so easy access to all levels. Public paid parking is available across the street at Federation Square or down the street at Wilson Parking at 189 Flinders Lane. Flinders Street Station is a five minute walk or the #6 Tram stop is right in front of the pub so public transport is a super easy option.
