East Gippsland Winter Festival

The East Gippsland Winter Festival is on again this year. Featuring more than 100+ spectacular events happening right across the East Gippsland region, the festival presents one of the largest and most diverse winter festival programs in Australia.

East Gippsland Winter Festival – bigger and brighter!

The annual East Gippsland Festival is a month-long celebration of regional art, food, culture, and nature. The feature-packed program of events incorporates the Winter Solstice and run right through the Victorian School Holidays.

A huge range of free activities and family-friendly events offers an affordable, yet magical winter getaway to East Gippsland.

This stunning region boasts mild winters by the coast and a diverse natural landscape of stunning mountains, mighty rivers, Ramsar-listed lakes, 90 mile beaches, tall forests and picturesque valleys.

We were invited to experience “HOW WE WINTER” in East Gippsland and stayed over a long weekend basing ourselves in Lakes Entrance.

From Bairnsdale to Benambra, Metung to Mallacoota and virtually everywhere in between, the Gippsland Festival Program has something for all ages.

East Gippsland Winter Festival Lakes Lights

The kids got to make hand-made lanterns, we saw projection art that augments reality and listened to live music. We visited the Metung Hot Springs and bathed overlooking lakes, ate lots of long lunches and winter feasts in spectacular locations, and much more.
