Elwood Park Playground, Elwood
Elwood Park has 2 amazing playgrounds which are so much fun for kids of all ages! Plus they are on the foreshore and close to the beach too so in Summer you can enjoy both.

Elwood Park Playground
Mums Little Explorers had so much fun visiting Elwood Park, which is only about a 20 minute drive from the city! There are two playgrounds to explore, and we gave both a good workout.
We parked in the beach car park, where there are lots of spots available which are paid between 8am and 11pm. If you’re lucky, you might find free parking on Ormond Esplanade or one of the side streets.
Elwood Park Foreshore Playground

This playground has everything a kid needs for fun: swings, slides, climbing frames, monkey bars, a seesaw, a small flying fox, a fireman’s pole, a tunnel, and rope climbing. There’s also a shade sail with benches underneath, which is perfect for grown-ups to sit and relax while keeping an eye on those kids; they have so much energy, don’t they?

The playground is next to a big grassy area, perfect for picnics or playing catch. There are barbecues and picnic benches, making it great for parties or family gatherings; there were a couple active during our visit. Nearby, there’s an off-lead dog play area, so you can bring your furry friends too.
The ground is covered in bark material to help prevent injuries. Plus, it’s right next to the Elwood Tennis Club and the beach is also, oh so close.

Elwood Park Playspace
Spoilt with choice, yes there is a second playground. Our councils must be awash with funds. The second playground is near a cool café called Wild Gypsea. This is a great spot if adults want to relax with a coffee while the kids play.
The Elwood Park Playspace has a small slide for younger toddlers, a baby swing, a large round swing for older kids, more benches for sitting/resting, a larger slide, a climbing area, picnic benches, and even an old piano outside the café, and a sandpit.

The playgrounds are beside Elwood Beach; therefore, they are popular in the summer months, and there are toilets nearby. When Mums Little Explorers visited there was an ice cream truck parked in the car park! Who would not want to be a kid again. In my day we had swings at our playgrounds, and not much else. This is awesome.
