Fitzroy Gardens, Playground and Picnic Area Fitzroy
Fitzroy Gardens is one of the most beautiful gardens in Melbourne. With its picturesque landscapes, and kids playground this tranquil spot on the outskirts of the city centre makes the perfect spot for a picnic, or leisurely stroll.

Fitzroy Gardens
Fitzroy Gardens are located just outside the CBD and provide an expansive and lush landscape for families to explore.
There are beautifully manicured lawns, vibrant flower beds, and majestic trees that create a tranquil atmosphere.

The well-maintained paths make it easy to navigate the gardens, offering a peaceful escape from the city’s hustle and bustle not too far away.
There are also various water features around too.

Pack a delicious spread, relax on the grass, and soak in the serene ambiance while the kids run and play on the expansive lawns.
The dragon playground is perfect for little ones to play. It is small but the kids will love climbing the sleeping dragon and swinging from the giraffe’s neck.

For a dose of history, families can visit Cook’s Cottage, a charming 18th-century cottage that was transported from Yorkshire, England, and reassembled in the gardens. Here you can learn about the life of Captain James Cook and his voyages.

The Fitzroy Gardens are walking distance to the iconic MCG and Australian sports museum, and right across the road from the popular Pullman on the Park Hotel. Great spot to base yourself close to the city.
