The Spring school holiday dates in Victoria are from Saturday 16th September 2023 – Sunday 1st October 2023. Term 3 starts Monday 2nd October.

Tesalaar Tulip Festival Kids Weeks

Kids go free these September school holidays Melbourne at the Tesselaar Tulip Festival! The whole family can enjoy a day of fun and adventure and see the wonderland of 900,000 tulips in full bloom.
There is an awesome line up of family fun, including Live Interactive Experiences with Bluey and Bingo, Peppa and George Pig. There will be a fairy with intriguing tales in our Fairy Hollow. You can touch and learn about Australian wildlife from Black Snake Productions.

One of the best school holiday activities in Melbourne is heading to one of the various museums for the day!
Melbourne Museum always has different expos on. At the moment it is Fantastic Beasts which is well worth a visit!
For those who love science, make sure to check out Scienceworks and the planetarium.
Artvo is great to introduce your kids to art with a 3D interactive gallery. Pollywoodside in the city centre is perfect for a family day out aboard a tall ship.
Try one or try them all, there are lots of different activities going on at eat venue during the holiday period.

Melbourne Farms

Get kids up to nature and visit and experience what real farm life is about. Melbourne has some fantastic farm experiences all over Melbourne including Myuna Farm in Melbourne’s south east, Chesterfield Farm in the east, Bundoora Farm in the north and Collingwood Children’s Farm near the CBD.

Skating Fun

There’s some fantastic fun school holiday activities all around Melbourne if you like skating!
Sk8House in Melbourne’s south east is great for roller skating or roller blading, or if you want to try your skills on ice, check out the O’brien Skate House at the Docklands or Ice HQ is another great one in Melbourne’s north.
During winter there are pop up ice skating rinks, these school holidays you can visit The Rink.
Melbourne Theme Parks
Looking for an adventure filled day out? You can find some of Melbourne’s favourite school holiday activities at a range of fun theme parks and water parks!

Luna Park and has been an iconic city attraction for more than a hundred years and is only 10 minutes from the city. Fun and easy day out if you don’t want to travel too far.
Funfields in the northern suburbs will provide a fantastic day out for the whole family jampacked with rides and water slides.
Gumbuya World in Melbourne’s outer east is a water park, wildlife park and theme park all in one. There is lots of fun all year round and they usually have some fun school holiday activities going on too.
Fairy Park is a great school holiday activity for the little ones. It’s an old style fairy tale themed park in Melbourne’s West towards Geelong.
Melbourne Attractions
There are so many awesome attractions that are great school holiday activities in Melbourne.
If you want to see some awesome views of the city you can head up to the Skydeck which has the highest observation platform in the Southern Hemisphere. If you are game, make sure to head out on “The Edge”
Melbourne River Cruises are great fun to see a bit of Melbourne from the water. The city skyline views are beautiful, and it is great to watch the many boats and canoes making use of the Yarra.
Australian Sports Museum at the MCG is a fantastic day out for sports lovers. You can take a tour of the ground and then check out the museum itself full of memorabilia of past and present players and learn about the greats of our most popular sports.
VJunior Cinemas

Looking for a school holiday activity for a Cold or rainy day, or just looking to chill out? VJuniors is unlike any other cinema, V Junior has been designed for kids by kids with modified seating, lighting, and fun activities before and at intermission.
