Funfields Water Park & Theme Park Melbourne | Tips for Your Visit
Funfields is one of Melbourne’s Best Water Parks and popular theme parks. Under an hour from Melbourne it makes a great day out over the summer school holidays.
Funfields Water Park Melbourne
If you are looking for a fun and exciting day out with the kids this summer, Funfields is fantastic! There is so much to keep the whole family busy for the day and the kids won’t want to leave.
For the little ones there is plenty of fun water play and theme park rides. For the older ones, there are the bigger waterslides and rides along with the wave pool which is great for the whole family.
There are lots of food options at reasonable prices. However, one of the great things about Funfields is that you can bring your own food too, so fill your eski and set up a picnic under one of the huge trees on the lawns.
There is plenty of space with shade to base yourselves for the day, and it is great to create a base so the older kids can come and go between rides.
There are also sunbeds near the water zones, and if you want to you can hire a cabana for an extra cost.
Funfields has a variety of rides for all age groups. While everyone can enjoy a swim and splash in the wave pool, find below the Funfields rides.
Funfields Rides and Slides for Older Kids & Adults
If you are a thrill seeker, there are plenty of slides and rides to get your adrenaline pumping. Many of these have height restrictions from 120cm, with some at 130-140cm.
Water rides include the Gravity wave, Typhoon, Wipe out, Black out and the Kraken racer.
Other rides include Dragon’s revenge, Blackbeard’s fury, the Voodoo, and the Go Karts.

Birdy Cove is a safe water play area especially for toddlers and little ones. There are lots of water play options for kids to have fun.
Amazonia Water Play is for kids under 130cm. There is lots of interactive water play options including slides, fountains, water cannons and a 2000 litre water bucket.
Water rides include Tiki bay, Splash down waterslide.
Other rides include the Ferris wheel, Samba balloon, Mini golf, Sky bounce and the Pony express.
Food Options at Funfields
Funfields have plenty of food options. You can purchase hot food such as burgers and chips or pizza. There are also sandwiches, wraps and salads.
There is a kiosk with popular snacks and slushies and an icecream shop with gelati, frozen yoghurt and soft serve. The prices are quite reasonable too.
You can also bring your own food to Funfields. In fact, you can pack an eski full of food and drinks for the whole day if you like.
Funfields Slingshot Pass
The Funfields slingshot pass is fantastic and great value at only $15 extra.
Unlike other “skip the line passes” where you are allowed to skip the line over and over, this pass allows you to skip the line ONCE for 6 of the most popular rides. We actually found this better because it meant that the slingshot line was never overcrowded with people going on the same ride over and over.
If you head to your favourite rides on arrival early you shouldn’t have to wait too long anyway, and so it’s best to save your “slingshot” pass for when there is a larger line, so you get to skip it.
Tips for Visiting Funfields
- Put aside a whole day to get the best experience. There is so much to do.
- Plan ahead. Check the map on the website so you can find the best place to base yourselves for the day and also which rides you want to go on.
- Try to arrive on opening and head to the most popular water rides first to avoid long wait times. By lunch time the rides can get quite long.
- Some rides require footwear and clothing. Toboggan requires sleeves (No singlets)
- The Slingshot pass costs extra and allows you to skip the line once for each of the larger rides. (Great value!)
- If you live local buy the annual pass and visit as many times as you like.
