Big 4 Yarra Valley Holiday Park, Healesville
Entering the Big 4 Healesville, is like entering a nature playground. You are surrounded with the wildlife as you walk in.
Parrots, cockatoos, and other birds are flying around everywhere, especially in the park area. The reception has birdseed you can use to feed them. They are very friendly, and will even fly down and perch themselves on your shoulder or eat from your hand.
Kangaroos can be seen bouncing around in the early morning, and late afternoons. We had a few come up close to our tent just after breakfast!
Koalas can often be seen in the gum trees, and you may even see a wombat or two if you are lucky.
Big 4 Yarra Valley Facilities
There are plenty of things to do around the park for kids.
In the centre of the park is a huge playground with the usual swings, slides etc. It is usually packed with friendly birds.
Kids can ride their bikes, scooters, or skateboards around the huge track in the middle of the park. This was a big hit while we were there, it was always packed with kids.
The famous koala in the centre of the park makes for the perfect family photo opportunity.
Another bit hit was the jumping pillow which is next to the recreation room which has a table tennis table, a foosball table, a pool table, and a TV with couches.
There is a dam where sometimes they have an inflatable water feature. And you can also find another playground there as well as tennis courts too.
For the warmer weather the Big 4 Yarra Valley Holiday Park now has 2 pools. A lagoon type pool with a small baby pool at one end. This is perfect for young families. Then there is also a long narrow plunge pool on the top deck which is great for older kids.
