Located in the heart of Essendon, 400 Gradi is a family friendly Italian restaurant that will get your taste buds watering. Renowned for its delicious pizzas, pasta, and gelati, Gradi is the place to be if you are looking for an authentic Italian dining experience.

A culinary gem with an authentic Italian dining experience, 400 Gradi have restaurants all over Melbourne. We recently got to check out the Essendon venue and it didn’t disappoint.

The restaurant is located on a busy road, but once you are inside you wouldn’t know it. Seating is casual with the bar area in the middle and you can see the pizza oven from most of the tables which gives the perfect aroma for the room.

The menu is packed full of Italian cuisine from antipasto, pastas, pizzas, and main meals. We got a mix of food between us which included a couple of pizzas, the Linguine Frutti Di Mare and the platter of Muscles, both brimming with the freshest seafood flavours.

There is a delicious desert menu and of course also a gelato bar. Desert for us included the Torta di Arancia and the Tirimisu.

The kids absolutely loved the gelati.

The drinks list is filled with lots of Italian wines and cocktails including the famous Aperol Spritz.

The food was delicious and the portions are more than generous.

The place has a great family-friendly atmosphere. The staff was incredibly accommodating, ensuring our kids felt welcome and happy throughout the dining experience.
