One of Melbourne’s most iconic destinations is sweeter now with the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie. Join a tasting, special workshop, or the kids can become a junior chocolaterie for the day. If you have a sweet tooth, you are not going to want to leave.
Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie
Located along the famous Great Ocean Road, you can enter a world of chocolate and sweets at the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery.
The talented team of European Chocolateiers and Pastry Chefs offer a collection of more than 250 chocolates.
You can join daily hosted tasting sessions, and chocolate making classes, indulge at the café or simply watch the chocolatiers through the viewing windows.
Outside there is a beautiful grassed garden with a chicken and guinea pig coop, a sand pit and a veggie patch. There are tables outside where you can eat and drink too. There is room to take a picnic blanket and a ball if you like to play outside or you can also purchase them there for $12.50.
Daily Chocolate Tasting Sessions
Each day there are chocolate tasting sessions with no booking required. The team at the chocolaterie will guide you through a selection of 12 hand crafted chocolates and you can learn about where they source their ingredients from and the techniques used to create them.
Chocolate Making Classes
The Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie has a range of chocolate making classes and workshop for all ages that the whole family can enjoy.
The Junior Chocolateier Classes for kids are fantastic. On entry the kids get their choice of coloured aprons, caps and name badges and then work to create their own chocolate creations using dark, milk, and while chocolate.
They have a moulded chocolate tray used to create little animal treats and get to make a giant chocolate lollypop with lolly toppings.
Once they are finished their creations they are taught about the art of chocolate with some fun facts. Then they receive a gift bag along with a Junior Chocolatier certificate.
