Hard Rock Hotel Bali Review: Family Resort Accommodation
Looking for a Bali hotel that ticks all the boxes for a family-friendly getaway? We recently stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Bali in Kuta for part of our Bali family trip. From the spacious modern family rooms to the water slides and poolside cabanas, this resort is perfect for Aussie families looking for a fun and convenient base in Bali.

Hard Rock Bali Review
If you are looking for a family resort in Bali to chill and relax while being central for day trips out, Hard Rock is a great choice. On our recent family trip to explore Bali, we spent the first part of our trip at the Hard Rock Hotel.
LOCATION – Right in the Heart of the Action
The Hard Rock Hotel Bali is located right across the road from Kuta Beach, and walking distance to local shops, restaurants, beach markets and the Beachwalk Shopping Centre.
It’s in the thick of the action, but once you step inside the resort, it feels like your own little oasis. The location is ideal for families wanting to explore the local area without needing a car or long taxi rides.
You can do as much or as little as you want. If you are looking for a resort for a chill holiday this is perfect, however if you want to also head out for day trips, for morning shopping, or sunset drinks, it’s great too because it is pretty much central to most places.
FACILITIES – Pools, Slides, Spa & More
This is where Hard Rock Bali really shines for families with kids of all ages.
The Pool Area
Massive! One of the biggest free-form pools in Bali, with waterslides, a sandy beach section, and poolside games throughout the day. The kids were in heaven and spent hours on the slides and kids water park.

Cabanas
We booked a cabana on our first day. If you are staying in the resort for the day and want some shade to chill out it’s worth booking. It gives you a comfy spot to relax with drinks and snacks close by, while keeping an eye on the kids. Make sure to book in advance though as they do go quite quickly and you risk missing out if you wait too long.

Kids Club & Activities
There’s a kids club, rock climbing wall, and daily activities happening around the pool, so there’s never a dull moment. We stayed over Easter and there were plenty of themed activities for the kids which was great.
Note that the kids club is for children from 4- 12 years old, and this is not flexible. For older kids there is a teen area, however they must be 14 years old to stay alone. 12 and 13 year olds are allowed to be in there with someone over 17 years old.

Rock Spa
As part of our Naughty and Nice package, we indulged in massages and spa treatments – a real treat for the adults after a day in the sun. The spa has a beautiful, chilled atmosphere and the therapists were excellent.
ROOMS – Spacious Family Comfort
There are different types of rooms depending on your family size. We stayed in a family room with 2 queen beds and it was perfect for our family of four. It had a TV, table with chairs, spacious bathroom and a door walking out to the chill out pool zone. There are suites with separate bedrooms if you prefer.

DINING
The dining options at the Hard Rock Bali are convenient if you don’t want to venture far however the prices are similar to Aussie restaurants so don’t expect it to be as cheap as the local places. We ate a few times in the hotel and found all of the food offered to be great quality. There are plenty of local dining options nearby so we tried to mix it up and eat out too.
Splash Bistro
If you don’t want to move from the resort it’s a popular choice. You can even order to your cabana if you hire one, we did this on one of the days and it was super convenient.
The food there is simple, easy and fresh. There are Western and local options, plus a kids’ menu with all the classics. If you are wanting something easy it’s a great option. Even for picky eaters there is something to find on the menu.

Jamie Oliver Kitchen
JOK is located within the hotel with an entrance of it’s own on the main road, we really loved the food here!
They have a great menu with a mix of Indonesian and western favourites, lots of seafood options, so fresh and so yummy. We preferred it here than the bistro, many more options to choose from and definitely worth a visit.

Starz Diner
All day dining is offered in the Starz Diner, we had breakfast here each morning which was a highlight with a huge buffet spread including pancakes, eggs, fruit, Indonesian favourites, and a range of pastries and juices.
We had one dinner as part of our Naughty and Nice Package and the food was delicious!

Nearby Restaurants
Other nearby places we visited within walking distance and can recommend are Fat Chow, Maids Wurung and the Cultural show with buffet at Warung Senggol.
Hard Rock Bali, A Fun-Filled Family Holiday Spot
Hard Rock Hotel Bali is loud, lively, and packed with entertainment – exactly what you’d expect from the brand. It’s a top pick for Aussie families looking for a central location, loads of kid-friendly facilities, and plenty of entertainment options without leaving the resort.
Whether you’re travelling with your own family or part of a larger group, it’s a spot that caters for all ages and ensures everyone has a memorable holiday.
