Things to do at Lake Fyans Holiday Park
There are plenty of great family friendly facilities at the Lake Fyans Holiday Park.
Water Activities
The lake is perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing and you can hire all the gear at the park.

We visited with our kids aged 7 and 9 years old during the summer where the sun didn’t set until around 8.30pm. It was fantastic to see so many families still out on the lake until the evening.
Bike Track
There are also adult and kids bike for hire if you BYO your helmets or you can bring your own. While we didn’t ride ourselves, we saw plenty of kids and families riding around the park while we were there.
Pool

There is a solar heated pool for when the weather is warm and you want to cool off. We had a couple of very hot days when we were there so it was perfect.
There are some sunbeds and chairs around the pool too, and you get a lake view from the pool.
Playground and Jumping Pillow

Our kids spent a lot of time at the adventure playground and jumping pillow where they met lots of other kids and made new friends.
Games Room
The games room is located across from the playground and has a pool table and table tennis table. You can hire the balls and racquets etc from reception. There are also arcade type games that you pay for as well.
Basketball/Tennis Courts

At the back of the park there are 2 basketball rings and 2 full tennis courts too. You can bring your own racquets and balls or hire them at reception.
BBQ Areas
There are also various BBQ’s located throughout the park and a small camp kitchen with appliances to use. You can also hire a Fire Drum from the park too which is great.
Bistro and Kiosk
You can BYO food at the holiday park, however there is also a bistro onside where you can make bookings at reception for a meal. Unfortunately it was closed during our stay (result of the pandemic) but we were told it would be open again in the weeks after.
The kiosk at reception sells drinks, snacks, ice-creams etc, and even some staple items if you need.
One thing to note is that you need to bring water with you, as the water in the park isn’t recommended for drinking. There is a tank within the park where you can fill up water if you need. They also sell bottles at the kiosk.
Lake Fyans Holiday Park Cabin Review
We stayed at the Lake Fyans Holiday Park in a Village Cabin for a weekend during the summer.

Village Cabins contain and sleeps 6 people in 2 rooms. Room one with a double bed, room 2 with 2 double bunks.
There is small bathroom, full kitchen and lounge area with a table and chairs, a TV, aircon, and heating. The balcony also had a small table with chairs.
The cabin we stayed in was very clean and had everything we needed to cook, serve and eat. There was a kettle, toaster, microwave, oven and stove top, cutlery, plates, bowls, mugs, glasses etc, and even wine glasses! The only thing missing that we would have loved is a BBQ on the balcony.

From our balcony we looked out to the pool, and could see the playground and jumping pillow not too far away. We also had mountain views over the lake behind the pool.

Village cabins were perfect for us because our kids love to be independent and go play by themselves at the park, so we could let them go and still see them from the cabin.
There are plenty of other cabins around the park, as well as powered and unpowered sites for caravans and campers too.
Being in such a rural area, the phone and Internet coverage isn’t amazing. If you have a phone with Telstra, you should be fine, however it’s pretty average with other providers. There is Free WIFI however it is a bit patchy.
We actually enjoyed the fact that we weren’t connected all day, it gave us time to disconnect. The Grampians is such a gorgeous place to get out into nature and just unplug, that it can work as an advantage, especially if you have teens who are attached to their phones all the time.
The Holiday Park is very family friendly and there is plenty to do to keep the kids entertained. We will definitely be back.
