Marriot Hotel Melbourne Review, Family Accommodation in the CBD
Marriot Hotel Review, Melbourne: Located right in the heart of the CBD and close to so many of the city’s popular attractions, hidden laneways and fantastic bars and restaurants you can find the Marriot Hotel Melbourne. We recently stayed as a family of four at the Marriot Hotel, here is everything you need to know.
Marriot Hotel Melbourne
This may sound biased, but Melbourne is an amazing city and there is so much to do in the CBD for any type of traveller. The CBD of Melbourne is packed full of popular attractions and The Marriot Hotel is in the heart of it all, within walking distance of many of them.
Suitable for all types of travellers, The Marriot is a great choice for those looking for accommodation in Melbourne’s CBD.
With various types of rooms including family rooms, and facilities such as a pool, fitness area and restaurant it has everything you need for a stay in the city.
The staff are friendly and helpful and happy to assist with anything you need during your stay. (We lost our room keys a few times)
Marriot Hotel Melbourne Location
The Marriott Hotel is a family hotel centrally located in Melbourne’s CBD close to various attractions and landmarks. It is also walking distance to the historic theatres of Melbourne making it a great place to stay if you are heading to the theatre.
Melbourne Central and the State Library are just a 5 minute walk away. You can find China Town close by with various delicious restaurants, as well as the popular Lygon Street within a 10 minute walk where you can find amazing Italian food as well.
It’s a great place to stay when visiting the city if you don’t want to drive around everywhere. It is located also in the free tram zone if you need to go further.
Marriot Hotel Melbourne Rooms
The Marriot Hotel has one of the largest standard hotel rooms in Melbourne. We stayed in a family room on the first floor featuring 2 queen beds and a courtyard which sometimes has the glamping tent out during the warmer months.
There is a TV and Free WiFi, and a bar area with a coffee machine, ice box for wine etc
The bathroom is a generous size, fitted with marble and high-end toiletries provided. There was no bath tub in the room we stayed in however some rooms do have this feature.
There are also adult sized dressing gowns and slippers provided in the robe area.
Marriot Hotel Melbourne Facilities
You can access a range of facilities during your stay at Marriott Melbourne. There is an indoor fitness area which is well equipped with everything you need for a quick workout for those wanting to stay fit.
The heated indoor pool is convenient all year round, even in cool weather. This was a big hit with the kids because they love to have a swim any time and burn energy. The connecting spa was also great to wind down in after a big day.
The pool area does show it’s age a little bit as it isn’t really modern, however it is still fine.
Marriot Hotel Dining
The Marriot Hotel Melbourne has a restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The buffet breakfast is fantastic and has a huge variety for all tastes.
Fresh barista coffee or tea can be ordered from your table as well as freshly cooked omelette. Otherwise you can find bacon and eggs, a range of pastries, fresh fruit, muesli, yoghurt and even smoothies.
The bar area is great for a drink and has live music some nights too.
We didn’t eat at the hotel restaurant but there are plenty of dining and shopping options are close to the hotel, including Chinatown and Lygon Street close by.
We had dinner at the popular Panda Hot Pot, just a 10 minute walk away and it was amazing if you like Chinese food. It is a unique night out as it is a themed restaurant with a free show as well.
