Melbourne Public Family Sundays – South Wharf
Located in Melbourne on the edge of the Yarra River, you find Melbourne Public in South Wharf, a family friendly restaurant with fun kids activities to make meals out easier.

Melbourne Public, Family Restaurant
Looking for a family restaurant in Melbourne’s CBD? Melbourne Public serve up delicious meals for the whole family and have Family Sundays each week from 12-3pm with rotating complimentary kids entertainment. We got to check out this industrial inspired venue and it was great.
The animal farm is on the first Sunday of each month, other rotating activities are face painting, balloon animals and more, this is a great way to keep your little ones entertained while enjoying a lovely afternoon at Melbourne Public.

At Melbourne Public you can conveniently order your meal and drinks via a QR code or via the app (The Pass) at the table. Otherwise you can go up to the bar. We opted to order via the app, which was quick and easy. The kids also enjoyed seeing the pictures of the meals ordering via the app.
The kids meal was a generous serving, bigger than most kid meals. Our daughter got the burger and chips and our son chose the nuggets and chips.
For entree we shared the spiced Calamari which was all very tasty. For mains, my husband enjoyed striploin, cooked perfectly at medium rare and I got the classic Chicken Parma.
The biggest hit was the desserts, we ordered the trio of sobert and sticky date pudding to share and the kids demolished it.

There is indoor and outdoor seating and big screens inside and out making it a perfect venue if you desire to watch some sport on the big screen.
During our visit we spent most of our time at the animal farm, the kids really enjoyed holding the rabbits and guinea pigs, patting the goats, pig, chickens and ducks. It was a lovely way to entertain the kids in between courses making, eating out with young kids especially more enjoyable.
Melbourne Public is also great for a night out without the kids if you are looking for a date night or outing with friends. With live music every Friday and Saturday night, Happy Hour from Monday to Friday, and weekly food specials, it makes a great destination for those looking for a few drinks and a great meal.
