Best Views of Melbourne at the Melbourne Skydeck
Get the best views of Melbourne at the Melbourne Skydeck which has the highest observation platform in the Southern Hemisphere. Formally known as the Eureka Skydeck, it has had a massive makeover and features a range of new attractions.

Melbourne Skydeck
Located in the heart of the city near the Southbank promenade, the almost 300mtre skyscraper is one of the most famous attractions in Melbourne.
Relax and enjoy a snack or drink with 360 degrees of the best views in Melbourne, one of the best ways to view the city from above.
Check out the VR Plank, the Voyager theatre and step out onto the Edge and look down at the city blow your feet in a glass container.

The elevator takes just 36 seconds to climb super fast to the 88th floor. You are in and out before you know it. You can relax and have a snack or participate in a range of activities.
With kids or for non-locals, best to visit during the day and spot all of the Melbourne attractions and highlights. For Melbourne locals who have seen it all, a visit at night is a must to enjoy the city lights.
When you first walk through you can see the city replica of Melbourne.

As you walk around the Melbourne Skydeck you can enjoy the panoramic views and spot your favourite city icons and attractions.
Here below you can spot Flinders Street Station, Fed Square and the Yarra River.

And here the Yarra River, the Arts Centre, and behind in the distance Rod Laver Arena and the MCG.

There are also specific telescopes set on specific attractions as well in case you aren’t able to spot them with your naked eye.

Things to do at the Melbourne Skydeck
There are also plenty of other additional experiences to participate in.
The Edge

Dare to see Melbourne on The Edge, a glass cube that suspends from the Melbourne Skydeck out to the cityscape 300 metres above the ground.
Not for the faint hearted, you are literally in a 3x3mtre glass cube looking down onto the city.
Make sure to choose a nice clear day if you are going to do the Edge experience, sometimes when it is cloudy or has been raining there is a bit of glare on the glass.
VR Plank
Virtual Reality 300mtres high only for the bravest contenders but both kids and adults can brave it.
You are balancing on a narrow plank above Melbourne. Every step you take and every move you make is felt on your headset. Edge your way across and zipline through the parks and streets of Melbourne.
Voyager Theatre

The first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, and largest of its kind in the world, the Melbourne Skydeck Voyager Theatre features 24 award-winning Positron Voyager virtual reality ‘pod’ chairs that take guests on an immersive journey of discovery of Melbourne’s festivals, laneways, Yarra River, sporting events and Victoria’s stunning scenery.
Bar 88

No Melbourne Skydeck experience is complete without a drink or snack at the bar taking in the breath-taking city views.

Enjoy a Champaign, wine, beer, cocktail or coffee and snack on savoury nibbles, pastries and cakes or a cheese platter. Sit at the stools by the window taking in the beautiful views of Melbourne.
