MoPA: Museum of Play and Art in Melbourne is an immersive children’s museum designed for kids from 1-10 years old where they can explore, play, create and learn. After opening a Museum in Geelong’s CBD, MoPA then opened in Sandringham, Melbourne in July of 2022 welcoming children from all over the city.

Museum of Play and Art has fast become one of the best places to take the kids for a hands on immersive experience.
If you are looking for a bright, beautiful, interactive spot with great coffee to hang out with your little ones then MoPA is it!
Based in Sandringham, the Museum of Play and Art is minutes away from Southland Shopping centre and a perfect spot for a bit of family fun time.
Offering award-winning play-based-learning facilities, with exhibits and new activities every day, MoPA designed to support both the cognitive and physical development of children aged from 1 to 8 years old.
With a range of different rooms and exhibits kids will love exploring each different activity and don’t even realise how much they are learning.
The moment you walk in, the kids are drawn into an interactive gallery of fine art. The kids loved popping in and out of paintings.
The museum opens up to a massive area full of interactive play areas for children to explore.
Bright colours abound and there is everything from active sliding and dancing to working on a small piece of art that is projected on the wall for all to see.
There is a huge play city for kids to explore!
Painting the Beetle is a big hit, all the kids love this one. Where else can you get to paint a car?
The set up is great for parents. It’s so open that it’s easy to keep an eye on the kids while enjoying a wonderful coffee from the café.
There are plenty of options to choose from if you or your littles are hungry. We had a healthy snack pack that was great and yummy cupcakes.
There are also ample spots for changing when needed and privacy rooms for feeding or just a quiet minute if needed.
MoPA is also a wonderful place for birthday parties. The place is kept immaculately clean. Every time I turned around someone was wiping something or sweeping up.
MoPA is meant for kids from ages 1-7 but my 11 year old tagged along and had a great time playing with his little sister. He also thought painting a beetle bug car was super cool!

Parking: There is ample free parking or take the 822 Bus to Avoca Rd/Bay St.
