The World’s First Learner Skateboard for Kids from Ookkie
Say goodbye to the pram and hello to the Ookkie Skateboard, the world’s first learner skateboard for kids as young as 2 years old.

Ookkie Learner Skateboard Review
Skateboarding isn’t the easiest skill to master, and for kids it can be even more difficult because of the balance needed to stay upright on the board.
While there have always been training wheels for kids bikes, skateboards have never had anything like it. Until now…
Skateboarding has just become more fun with the Ookkie learner skateboard for kids, and it is suitable for kids as young as 2 years old, or those who are confident to stand upright and hold on.
The Ookie learner skateboard was created by Aussie dad, Daniel De Gaye who had one goal in mind, to get kids learning to skateboard earlier.
With a kids handle and parent handle, riders are able to increase their core stability while learning to skate, without the fear of easily losing balance.
The Ookie learner skateboard is Australian designed and made from high quality products. It looks and feels like a proper skateboard, in fact it is a proper skateboard. It’s just made easier to ride for kids.
Suitable for any child who can walk, kids as young as 2 years old or even younger can ride if they are able to stand up and hold on without assistance.
The Ookkie skateboards are all about combining fun with early development. Kids will learn to develop their balance, coordination and stability while having fun.
Plus, as they get more confident, you can say goodbye to the bulky pram, and help them along on the Ookkie instead, until they can do it on their own.
The Ookie skateboard comes in a range of colours with matching accessories too.
How does the Ookkie Skateboard Work?
The Ookkie learner skateboard for kids comes in 3 pieces.
- The skateboard
- The kids handle
- The parent handle
It is really simple to assemble, in fact we didn’t need any instructions, however there are instructions in the box. Start with all three pieces together and as your child gains confidence remove one by one.

Have your child stand up on the board with one or two hands on their handle. They can start with 2 hands standing straight, and eventually move onto holding on with one hand while they stand sidewards on the board.
They don’t need to move, you just pull them along. The adult handle puts the parent in control of the skateboard so that you can go as slow or fast as you want.
As you pull, they will learn to balance and eventually learn how to push along with their feet too.
Once your child gains a bit of confidence to push themselves along with their feet, you can take the parent handle off and they can use the Ookkie skateboard on their own.
Eventually once they don’t need the handle anymore, you can take that off too and it becomes a regular skateboard.
Ookkie Skateboard Safety Accessories

Ookkie also have a range of safety accessories to make sure the kids have the best protection while learning to skateboard.
The matching kids helmet is small enough for little heads and can be adjusted for size. There are also elbow and knee pads, and wrist guards.
