Patchwork Playground in Altona North is situated within a vibrant new subdivision and has a little something for everyone.
The main drawcard to this playground is its different levels of climbing and activities available.
There is a small, structured climbing area for toddlers, more challenging slopped climbing activities for young children and some great, steep climbing pursuits for older children. Each of these climbing areas are joined by a circular hideout/forte/cubby.
Reach the top of the very steep climbing tower and you will be rewarded by an epic tunnel slide with loads of twists and turns. There is also a smaller tunnel slide for younger children.
A variety of swings are available, as well as a spinning roundabout, musical equipment, talk tubes, stairs and a bridge.
Another great feature is that the playground area is completely cushioned with rubber flooring, perfect for little ones to move around on.
The Patchwork Playground has a great open space of green grass with lots of bench seating around, drinking fountains, as well as two undercover BBQ areas.
There are currently not a lot of shady trees, however as the plants start to grow taller, this will change. The whole area is surrounded by footpaths for walking, riding and scooting.
Free parking is available on the streets that are parallel to the park. There are currently no toilets available.
A fantastic playground for all abilities, especially those who like a challenge, and a great place to have a picnic or BBQ.
