Bayview park is home to one of the best playgrounds in the West of Melbourne with a massive slide for little thrill seekers. With a BBQ area, picnic tables, and unlimited fun, you can spend an hour, an afternoon, or a whole day here.
Pirate Ship Playground, Point Cook
Alamanda is a thriving area in Point Cook, about 30km South West of Melbourne. With a bursting community of families, there are plenty of amazing parks to keep the kiddies entertained and this is one of the favourites! There are some fantastic views of the bay, and a play area to entertain the kids for hours.
The Pirate Ship Playground is a popular meeting spot not only for locals, but it also attracts families from all over the West of Melbourne.
The star of the playground is, of course, the giant pirate ship. Kids can climb aboard and set sail on their own adventures, whether they want to be the captain, lookout, or part of the crew. The ship is full of exciting features including net ladders and climbing frames for kids to scramble up and down, slides and ramps, lookouts and viewing decks and more.
While the pirate ship is the main attraction, the playground offers much more to keep children entertained. There are swings for kids of all ages, along with rockers and spinners that are especially popular with the younger ones. And did we mention the massive slide????
The sandpit with diggers is a huge hit with the little ones too. Our kids LOVED moving the sand around, scooping, lifting, and tipping as if they’re working on their own construction site. It’s a great spot for creative, sensory play and always keeps the younger ones busy for ages.
The playground is well-equipped for family outings. There are picnic tables, shelters, and BBQs close by, so you can easily make a day of it. The wide open space also makes it a great meeting point for playdates or group catchups. Toilets are located nearby, and the playground has good paths for prams and bikes too.
