Plane Pal Review
As frequent long-haul travellers, we know a good travel accessory when we see one. We have been flying with our kids back and forth from Italy to Australia since they were born.
While they were babies it was great because there is the bassinet. But once they outgrew it, it got more difficult as they obviously got taller.
Plane Pal has been a life changer for flying with our kids! This inflatable footrest will change the way you fly for the better!
Not only will it allow your little ones to sleep more comfortably in those airline seats, but it will allow you to put your feet up too and get some rest.
What is a Plane Pal?
The Plane Pal is a custom designed inflatable cushion that fills the space between your child’s seat and the seat in front. This allows children to stretch their legs, or even lay down during the flight depending on how big they are.
How to use the Plane Pal for kids?
The Plane Pal allows small children to lay down during the flight. Most babies and toddlers are able to lay flat with their legs stretched out. For older children, many can lay flat with their legs bent, or sit up with their legs stretched out. Much more comfortable than sitting up right or letting their legs hang over.

If you have 2 children, and 2 Plane Pals even better! Positioning the two Plane Pals next to each other allows your small children to lay flat side by side.

Can the Plane Pal be used as an inflatable footrest for adults?
Yes! While the Plane Pal is fantastic for children because it allows young ones to lay down, adults can benefit too. The Plane Pal can also be used an inflatable footrest, so you can put your feet up and sit more comfortably.
Our kids use the Plane Pal on every long haul trip we take. And when they aren’t sleeping with it, I use one of them to put my feet up.
Plane Pal Approved Airlines
You can find an updated list of Plane Pal approved airlines on their website HERE. There are over 40 and more being added on a regular basis to make sure to check in to see if they are allowed before you fly.
Before using your Plane Pal
- Make sure you contact your airline to make sure that you can use your Plane Pal
- Book your seats ahead of time to avoid disappointment. Plane Pals are best for window seats, and bulkhead seats. Aisle seats are not recommended as it obstructs the path of other passengers. Best used with middle seats only when you also have the window seat.
- Practice inflating and deflating at home so that you know what to expect onboard.
Other Plane Pal Accessories
Plane Pal also have other travel accessories which make travelling much easier. Check these out and add them to your packing list!

Plane Pal Packing Cubes
The Plane Pal packing cubes are such a convenient packing option and save so much time. There are three different sizes and they are see through so you can separate your smaller items from your larger ones and see what is in there from the outside.
Instead of rumbling through the whole suitcase to find a certain item, just pick up your packing cube and take a look. They also make packing your actual suitcase so much easier and quicker.
We use the packing cubes all the time, not just on flights, but also on weekend getaways as they just make life so much easier.
Waterproof Packing Pals
For your toiletries there are the waterproof packing pals which are fantastic for keeping liquid in, but also liquid out! Now you can keep all of your shampoo’s, creams, and other toiletries safely in the waterproof cubes with no fear of leaks.
As a double use, if you are at the beach, or heading out on a boat, the waterproof packing pals are also useful to hold valuables that you don’t want to get wet, such as your phone or camera.
Our Thoughts?
We love our Plane Pals, they have been a lifesaver to travel with especially with out over night flights. We just blow them up, lay the kids down and off they doze sleeping the whole night as they would at home. I won’t fly without them now ?
