Melbourne families, get ready to embrace the magic of winter! The Riviera Winter Wonderland has officially taken over Elwood’s waterfront, transforming the area into a snowy escape that feels like a winter holiday without even leaving the city!

The Riviera Winter Wonderland is packed with fun for all ages, whether you’re there for the ice skating, the private igloo dining, or simply to soak in the cosy winter vibes.
The family-friendly experience offers a variety of daytime entertainment including the custom-made ice-skating rink which the kids (and parents) absolutely loved. It is big enough for confident skaters but also has skate aids for beginners. The aids are also fun for pushing around your kids too.
The rink is undercover so great for all weather. While you probably want to rug up with jackets and beanies to start with, it gets warm skating around. With the DJ playing fun tunes and the beach in view, it feels like a winter party by the sea!
Outside the rink there is a small market area with popcorn, fairy floss, snow cones, face painting, and even snow blizzards for the kids. One of the highlights for us was having hot chocolate and mulled wine while roasting marshmallows by the fire.
If you’re after something extra special, you can book a private igloo. These stunning domes overlook Elwood Beach and are perfect for families or small groups. We timed our visit just right to catch the sunset from inside our igloo, and it was absolutely stunning. You can enjoy catered food and drinks all in the comfort of your own cosy space.
By night, Riviera Winter Wonderland transforms into an adults-only experience with disco skating, DJs, premium drinks, and igloo packages for couples or groups of friends. It’s a totally different vibe after dark, making it a great spot for a unique date night or winter catch-up.
There’s also the option to dine at The Pavilion Restaurant and Bar, which sits right by the rink and offers fantastic food with a front-row view of all the action.
