Rocket Playground, Ray Bastin Reserve – Narre Warren
Kids will love this space themed playground at Ray Bastin Reserve, in the South East, just a few minutes from Westfield Fountain Gate. Along with the rocket playground, there is also a BMX track and skate park too.

Ray Bastin Reserve
Usually hauling kids around for a morning of shopping, involves some sort of sweet bribe at the end to keep them happy. However, a trip to Westfield Fountain Gate Shopping Centre can be sweetened with the promise of an out-of-this-world time at the Ray Bastin Reserve conveniently located only minutes from the shopping centre.
The main attraction here will definitely be the Rocket Playground, which will provide your kids with hours of imaginative play.
As the name would suggest, the theme here is SPACE!

Set on a rubbery ground – perfect for soft knees – the main play space is a cool maze-like, multi-level complex with a rocket shaped twisting slide at the end. This alone will keep the kids exploring and squealing with delight for ages.
Spread across the large reserve are more interactive themed stations, including a ground control panel, play telescope and weather reading instruments.
There are also multiple swings (including a liberty swing), a sand play area and also plenty of space for bikes and scooters. If you want to make an afternoon of it, there are also 2 shaded BBQ spaces and benches.
The Ray Bastin Reserve is not just home to a great themed playground, it also has a skate park, BMX track, a footy oval and is the start of the Hallam Valley Trail Extension track.
The Hallam Valley Trail is a picturesque 10km circuit that winds through the native wetlands and some key Casey landmarks. The extension track that starts at the Ray Bastin Reserve is an easy 1.8km (27min) walk to joins with the main trail.
Grab a takeaway coffee from Westfield, make the 4 minute drive to the reserve and put your feet up while the kids burn off some energy. Whether your kids enjoy riding their bikes, kicking a ball or just running around between the sandpit and playground – there is something for them all.
To top it off, there are toilets and parking available on site.
