Rush Escape Game – Escape Room Melbourne
If you’re looking for a fun family activity and you like games or are good at puzzles, you need to check out Rush Escape Games in Melbourne.

Rush Escape Room Melbourne
Rush Escape Games operate in various locations in Melbourne. You need to coordinate with your team to break time challenges, and solve puzzles and mind games, using your skills to break out from a diverse range of rooms.
We went to check out The Strangest Thing Theme room at the Hawthorn location with kids from 7- 12 years old and all the kids loved it, even the youngest.

The secret rooms were a favourite. She did get a bit scared at the end when she thought we weren’t going to get all of the clues in time and a monster might appear. Luckily, no monsters were to be found.
I personally had never tried an escape room before and wasn’t sure what to expect but it was loads of fun attempting to figure out clues and beat the clock.
When we got stuck we had a walkie talkie to contact our guide who could give us clues and help move the game along.

You don’t need any sort of high fitness level to participate (maybe a high IQ would help with clues) but the Strangest Things room does require using a flight of stairs.
There is also a bit of crouching and bending to get to clues so may affect those with mobility needs. On a safety note, you are never actually locked inside the room.

It is a bit dark and creepy like the tv show but still suitable for all ages. I did find the 12 year olds were much more interested in actually playing the game and trying to escape.
The Hawthorn location also has Nine Nine which is Suitable for all ages, a light-hearted romp through a police station to become the next champion!

Also, Hacksaw which is a horror themed game and not recommended for kids under the age of 15. There is no age limit to play but if players are all under 16 then an adult must accompany.
There is free two hour parking just off Oxley Road. Tram 16 stops right in front of Rush (stop 72) or Glenferrie Train Station is 150 metres up the road.
For more themed games there are two other locations, South Yarra and St Kilda.
