As parents, we are always on the lookout for fun activities to keep the kids engaged, and burn of some of that energy, and well, we’ve found just the place.
The Sk8house roller skating rink is great spot for some good old-fashion fun for the whole family.
Skating is such a great activity to do with your kids, it’s not only fun, but also a great work out!

Whether you have never put on a pair of skates or want to become confident in trying some new tricks – the Sk8house is a safe space to start.
Classes range from Beginners (even ones for over 18s beginners) to Speed Skaters, for those after some thrill.
All classes are taken by experienced instructors who will expertly guide you through each step and move. The instructors are friendly, engaging and have been skating for years!

If you have been skating for some time, grab a general entry ticket and the rink is a fantastic place to become confident in gaining some speed or practicing some new tricks.
You can bring your own gear or hire skates/blades, helmets and some protective gear (included in the class fees). Otherwise feel free to walk through the onsite Sk8shop and buy yourself some retro skates or groovy socks.

The Sk8house really is the perfect one-stop shop and has a great atmosphere filled with music, laughs and lots of falls.
As you enter you will be assigned one of the tables set up along the side of the rink, this is a good viewing spot for any non-skating support crew.
Behind this is the party area – and there are some great kids party packages available. You will also find toilets, baby change facilities and even a small café, selling snacks, hot foods, coffees, slushies and more!
The Sk8house is open some weekdays and nights, and on weekends. They love to host a good old fashioned themed night/days so make sure to check out the website for the latest Sk8house events which always include some fun games, competitions, prizes and more.
There are many especially during the school holidays.
The Sk8house is located just off Frankston-Dandenong Road, in Carrum and only a few minutes from some great lunch spots like The Famished Wolf & The Boatrocker Brewers & Distillers.
Tips for Visiting Sk8house
- Check the website for opening times and special events.
- Book a skating class for beginners, the experienced instructions are fantastic.
- If you are doing a class, it is only $5 extra for a general entry directly before or after the class
- Remember to bring long socks to protect the back of your feet.
- You WILL fall, but it is not that bad and you will get better!
