What is great about the Spacetalk Adventurer Smartwatch?

Spacetalk makes communication between kids and parents easy, without the use of a mobile phone without worrying about cyber bullying or access to inappropriate content.

The great thing is that everything is set up by parents who have full control.

When you receive your Spacetalk Adventurer Smart Watch, you will get the watch itself, and also a charging cable and screen protector. The protector we have found especially great as kids can be kids we know!

The set up is easy, and there are full instuctions included.

There are a limited number of contacts which you can program in making it possible for kids to call essential contacts when needed.

The Spacetalk allows both calls and messages and is simple to use.

It also comes with a handy SOS Alert feature. When your child presses the SOS button located on the side of the watch, it will call you with their GPS location. Peace of mind!

One of the best things we found though is the school mode, allowing kids to wear the device at school without worrying about them fiddling around with it all day and getting distracted.

While the Spacetalk Adventurer Smartwatch is in school mode, parents have full control without distracting your child.

You can select the functions that are disabled during set times. So for example, you can turn off incoming/outgoing calls and messages, and any other functions during classtime so kids won’t get distracted.

Spacetalk then becomes like any other standard watch to only tell the time.

There is even an icon that teachers can see on the watch that shows when Spacetalk is in School Mode so they can feel at ease.

What you need to know

The Spacetalk Adventurer needs a nano simcard for use. There are a variety of options to choose from depending on how much data you think you will use.

There are different types of plans just like with your phone, otherwise you can also purchase pre-paid cards (which we have found the easiest) and then just top up when you need to.

To access all features on the app, there is a subscription fee which covers up to 3 watches. This is particularly useful if you have multiple kids.

Our Experience

The Spacetalk Adventurer Smartwatch has been a game changer for our family.

As parents we feel more confident to allow our kids to go for a walk or bike ride by themselves, drop them off at after school activities, know exactly where they are using the GPS tracking, and be able to be in contact with them any time.

There have been times we have been late to pick the kids up from an activity or friends place, which would usually be a stressful time. But it has been great being able to call and let them know what time we will be there, or where to meet us.

The Spacetalk has also given our kids the confidence to be more independent knowing that they can call us if and when they need to or push the SOS button if they are ever in trouble.
