Werribee Open Range Zoo is hosting a Sunset Safari during the summer months in Melbourne and it is one of the most amazing experiences. While it may not be Africa, it is probably the closest thing you will get to it nearby.
Sunset Safari At Werribee Zoo
Since the launch of the Sunset Safari in 2018, it has become one of the most popular summer events in Melbourne for families, couples, or even just a night out with friends.
While you may have visited the zoo during the day times, it is a totally different experience and an incredible night out.
You get to tour the savanna with an expert safari guide on the safari bus where you can see rhinos, giraffe and zebras roaming about freely.
Explore the walking trail where you can view the meerkats, monkeys, lions and hippos.
Listen to the drums of the African soul performance enjoying the songs, music, and dance.
Food and drink available are available for purchase on the night. You can grab a cocktail at Hippo Beach or enjoy and African inspired BBQ dinner at the Meerkat Bistro. There are also picnic hamper boxes you can pre-order.
What’s great, is that your ticket to Sunset Safari helps Zoos Victoria support sister zoos such as Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre.
