Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat, is coming to Australia in January 2024 to provide a fun, affordable, and nostalgic school holiday experience for the entire family.

Credited as the world’s leading rendition of this cult classic favourite, The Cat in the Hat live production features a full scale set and over 70 props to bring the colourful and creative world of Dr. Seuss to life.

You remember it don’t you? The story of two bored kids, Sally and Sam, home and bored one rainy day. Without notice, the brother and sister duo are graced with a surprise visit from a stranger – a cat in his red and white striped hat!

Along with his friends, Thing One and Thing Two, this iconic feline uses the power of play and imagination to pass the time away and turn the house upside down with mess and excess. Not deterred by Sally and Sam’s outspoken and outraged pet fish, The Cat uses his ‘picker-up machine’ to save the day so nothing is amiss.

In 1957, Dr Seuss used only 200 words to write his classic tale. More than 50 years later, The Cat in the Hat is a much-loved children’s phenomenon.

The play was adapted for the stage in 2009 by the National Theatre of Britain. The Cat in The Hat interrupts this rainy afternoon with an unexpected visit to Sally and her brother’s cozy home. Their outspoken and outraged pet Fish is astounded and concerned, but this cat will not be deterred. He will teach us all to make our own fun with nothing but a little imagination.
