Seafood lovers, this one’s for you! The Cray has just opened in Essendon and it’s already a hit. Think giant seafood platters, rich mains like lobster risotto and crispy barramundi, cocktails, and desserts you definitely need to save room for.

If you love fresh seafood, this place is an absolute dream. We were invited to check out the new venue in Essendon for opening night but will definitely be back!

The Cray is all about showcasing the best seafood. The menu has everything from fresh oysters and prawns to lobster, grilled fish, and massive sharing platters that come absolutely loaded.

We tried the Cray Seafood Platter with some sides as well as the Lobster risotto and Spaghetti Marinara. Everything was so tasty and beautifully put together.

And the desserts? Just as impressive. The brownie and sticky date pudding were crowd favourites, but my top pick was the blueberry & lime crumble cheesecake, seriously indulgent and worth every bite.

To top it off, there’s a great cocktail list, mocktails for those who prefer, and plenty of beers and wines too.

Whether you’re planning a family dinner, a date night, or a catch up with friends, The Cray is one of those places you’ll want to come back to again and again.

Right in the heart of Essendon, this spot is set to become a favourite in Melbourne’s north west. If seafood is your thing, you’ll want to add The Cray to your must try list.
