Tyama, Melbourne Museum : A Multisensory Experience of Nature
Come experience nature as never before at Tyama, the new multisensory experience at Melbourne Museum. A great outing for families with kids of all ages.

Tyama, Melbourne Museum
Tyama is the newest exhibit at the Melbourne Museum that will wow any visitor!
Through light, sound and movement you will experience the natural world as if you were a moth, bat or fish.

Tyama (CHAH-MUH) is the Keerray Woorroong language verb ‘to know’.
The knowledge of First People guides this gorgeous experience which is wonderful for all ages.
All of the senses are engaged whether using your hands to make sounds for the bats or movement to guide a sea dragon through the waves.

This is a beautiful experience for all ages. Little ones need to be watched to make sure the screens and equipment aren’t touched but in saying that there is plenty of space to move around.

There are six multisensory spaces to experience and the journey will take you between 25-40 minutes.
Flashing lights and haze are used so people with photosensitivity should take care.
Also, for the best experience it’s suggested to leave all prams outside the exhibit in the designated pram parking area.
