Valley Conservation Reserve, Mount Waverly
Tucked away off the busy High St of Mount Waverly you will find 15 acres of bushland at the Valley Conservation Reserve.

Complete with walking trail, an adventure playground and plenty of places to BBQ, the Valley Conservation Reserve is a beautiful place to escape to nature right in the heart of the suburbs.
The reserve is a throwback to how the area looked before urban development and has become a vital habitat for local plants and animals.
The bird watching on the walking trails is phenomenal.

Also, on this note, it’s not the best place to bring along furry friends as dogs are banned from many of the walking trails to protect the wildlife.
The main draw for the kids is the wonderful adventure playground. Built to blend in with the environment, there are ropes courses, tree houses and a flying fox.

With plenty of undercover seating and BBQs there are ample places to have a picnic or throw a birthday party. Toilets are also onsite and loads of free parking.
Signs with information about the history of the place and animals in the area are placed throughout the reserve.

There are spots to stop, sit and learn about the over 55 native species living in the reserve.

This is a perfect spot to get away from the busy life without ever really leaving the city.
