Victoria Hotel Yarraville, Family Friendly Eats in Melbourne
The Victoria Hotel in Yarraville recently opened a fresh renovation that families will love. Not only are they still serving up delicious meals, but the brand new beer garden with playground and indoor kids area is going to be a hit for the kids. Here’s all you need to know from our most recent visit.

Victoria Hotel Yarraville
Located in the heart of Yarraville in Melbourne’s inner west, this historic gem that has been serving the local community for over a century.
We have eaten here a few times in the past and it has always been a great stop for a bite to eat especially with young kids because we loved the indoor kids area.
With the addition of the brand new beer garden and outdoor playground, plus the upgrade of the indoor play area it is even better! If you are heading out for a meal with friends or family and actually want to finish your meal and conversation it’s a great spot.

Kid Friendly Areas
Inside in the bistro area there is a dedicated play zone where the kids are kept happily engaged with soft play a variety of fun activities.
There is a reading corner, colouring pencils on one side and a soft play and even a fun coloured cubby house with play food on the other side.

Tables are scattered around both areas making it the perfect spot for families with younger kids to eat out. Once the kids have finished eating, they can head off to play while you finish your meal and relax. They also provides high chairs for the kids of course!

Outside, the addition of a spacious beer garden is fantastic. At the far back there is an enclosed play area with spaces for all ages where they can run, climb and slide. There are actually 2 slides, one small for toddlers and another larger one for the bigger kids. There are some other fun activities such as noughts and crosses too.

Plenty of tables with comfortable seating surrounded by lush greenery seating, the beer garden provides the ideal setting for parents to relax while watching the kids play. If you have younger ones, make sure to ask for seats near the playground so you are closer. It is a closed off area so it will be difficult for them to get out, but it’s good to get a seat nearby so you can always see them.
On weekends there is even live music and on Sundays it is Kids Funday where there are lots of fun activities for the kids on including bubbles and face painting from 12pm -3 pm.
Both of these areas provide safe areas for the kids to play while the parents actually eat and perhaps finish a conversation. If you are looking for somewhere to go out for a family meals stress free it’s the perfect spot!
Food
The Victoria Hotel boasts a diverse menu catering to a range of palates. From hearty pub classics like a chicken parma, steak, or piece of fish, to healthier salads, and snacks. There is also wood fried pizza too. The kids meals come in a cute little box and include burgers, nuggets, or pizza. Portions are quite generous, we tried the parmas and they are huge! We all went home with very full bellies!

The drinks menu features a selection of craft beers and wine. Oh and let’s not forget the deserts. Ordering is super easy, you can either order via their app at your table, or head to the bar, really convenient.
