Winter Glass Houses at Wharf Hotel by the Yarra River
The Wharf Hotel Melbourne has launched its brand new Winter Glass Houses, offering a cosy riverside dining experience for families in the city.

We have visited The Wharf Hotel a few times now and it is still one of our favourite pubs in Melbourne. It has a relaxed family-friendly feel, great food, a beautiful riverside location and we love that they keep changing things up each season.
Last year, The Wharf Hotel had its popular Winter Igloos, but this year they have changed things up with beautiful glass houses overlooking the Yarra River. It is such a lovely winter experience and a fun way to enjoy lunch or dinner in Melbourne during the colder months.
The Setting
The new Winter Glass Houses seat up to 8 guests, and are set up along the river, giving you your own private dining space while still enjoying the atmosphere of the waterfront.
Each glass house is enclosed and styled beautifully, making it feel cosy and special without being too formal. It is a great option for families but would also work well for a catch up with friends, a birthday lunch, date night or winter dinner in the city.
There are different themed glass houses to choose from, with each one decorated in its own style.
- Sunflower House: A golden garden escape filled with bright blooms.
- Starry night: Deep blue accents and warm gold details and an after-dark atmosphere.
- Scarlet Bloom: A red themed glasshouse filled with rich florals, surrounded by deep red tones and lush floral detail.
The Food
For adults they offer a two-course dining package or sharing-style menu from $59 per person, and children can order from the kids menu. Meals are generous and the food is delicious as always.
They also have drinks paddles available, including tasting paddles for adults and a kids spritz paddle, which is such a fun little addition. The kids loved having their own mini drinks paddle and it made the meal feel even more exciting for them.
There are also optional extras available, including chocolate fondue, which would be a great add-on if you want to make the experience even more memorable.
Family-Friendly Dining
The Wharf Hotel is a great family-friendly pub in Melbourne because it has plenty of space, a relaxed atmosphere and a menu that works well for both adults and kids. If you visit on a Sunday there are kids activities and roaming entertainers.
