MANIAX Melbourne, Axe Throwing Fun
If you’re looking for a unique and exciting activity in Melbourne for older and teens, check out MANIAX. With various locations, it is such a fun outing for the family, group of friends or even a birthday party venue.

MANIAX Melbourne
MANIAX is Australia’s original and largest axe throwing company, with multiple venues around the country – including several across Melbourne.
The venues are styled with a rustic, industrial vibe, and each session includes guidance from trained “Axe-perts” to help you master the art of axe throwing.

We checked it out with kids 11 and 13 years old and got the Family Pizza Package at the Melbourne CBD venue, which includes one hour of axe throwing, two pizzas, and four drinks – ideal for families or small groups.

The session kicks off with a safety briefing and some coaching from the friendly staff. None of us had tried axe throwing before, so we weren’t sure what to expect.

It was a bit awkward at first, especially since most of our axes missed the board completely in the beginning! But with a little persistence (and a lot of laughs), we got into the swing of it, and by the end of the hour, each of us had landed a few bullseyes!
It’s fun, active, and totally different from the usual family outing. The kids already want to go back again.
MANIAX is for 11yrs and up, and kids under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. While it’s not suitable for younger children, it’s perfect for families with tweens and teens who are looking to try something new. It also makes a great birthday outing or school holiday activity for older kids, or even a unique parents’ night out.
