Mary Eats Cake is one of the best Melbourne’s High Teas. With a modern fresh twist of old fashioned traditions it makes such a great outing or a great venue for a special occasion.

Mary Eats Cake is a wonderful place to visit for High Tea or even a bottomless brunch or special occasion.

There are 2 venues in Melbourne, one in Brunswick and the other in Montrose.

We visited the Brunswick tea house on Sydney road which has an urban rustic café type feel, with old fashioned vintage tea wear.

The High Tea packages are 2 hours and run at various times through the week and on weekends. There are different packages to select from. We were offered the Fancy Package to review.

The menu is delicious, with a range of seasonal warm savoury options and sweet treats.

With the Fancy Package, the cheeseboard option is a fantastic addition and great to finish off with too.

Beverages include sparkling, wine, Mocktails, Soft Drink, Juice and of course an endless selection of delicious teas. The basic package includes your first drink, while the fancy package is unlimited.

There is also a Bottomless brunch and a Gin High Tea package (we must try that one next time!) They also cater for different dietary requirements as well.

Mary’s Gin High Tea Package

Each person receives:

Mary’s High Tea (four savoury items & three desserts)
Fresh scones with jam and cream (bottomless)
House blended specialty teas
Gin High Tea drinks menu to include Gin & Tonic on arrival, followed by 2 specialty Gin cocktails

High Tea session is for 2 hours duration
