Gumnut Park and Adventure Playground, Donnybrook
A unique traditional and not so traditional play space set among native river red gums – welcome to Gumnut Park and Adventure Playground! This is an adventure park ticks all the boxes you would expect, being full of nature and imaginative play, and of course adventure!

Gumnut Park and Adventure Playground, Donnybrook
Flanked by native grasses and trees, Gumnut Park and Adventure Playground has been inspired by May Gibbs’ Snugglepot and Cuddlepie stories.
It features whimsical structures, climbing pods and slides, and caters to the ever-growing number of families out in the Northern suburbs.
Nestled in the new Olivine Estate, in a street lined with display homes, empty blocks, construction sites and rural bushland surrounds, is where you will find Gumnut Park and Adventure Playground, which might I say is far from a conventional play space.

Elements of the playground have been built with locally sourced Australian timber and you will find two lovely large wood-carved animals; a koala and a lizard; featured around the play space. Perfect photo opportunity for the kids!

The playground itself is a multidimensional play experience, with three giant towers that make their way up to the gumnut climbing pods, mesh tunnels and 2 huge slides to make your way down.
Toddlers are well catered for with a slide over a large sandpit, in-ground trampolines, a Wobbly Wood adventure course and a beautiful gumnut cubby.
For the older crew, the park also features a half basketball court, skate ramp and two flying foxes.
You will also notice the well sheltered and covered area with tables and seating, perfect for kids’ birthdays, plus a BBQ space. There is also plenty of open bushland and grassed area for picnics.

If a picnic isn’t your thing, check out the not-for-profit, social enterprise Shared Cup café which is located right alongside the amazing playground, serving up some scrumptious meals, coffee and ice-cream. This is definitely one to check out with the whole family.
The park also has toilets, with baby changing facilities, which can be found next to Shared Cup café.
