Overnewton Castle & High Tea
Take a step back in time and enjoy a special experience a High Tea at Overnewton Castle in Keilor, Melbourne. This beautiful Scottish-style castle, built in 1849 by William Taylor, is full of history and surrounded by lovely gardens.

Overnewton Castle
Overnewton Castle has quite a bit of history. It was originally built by a man called William Taylor as a family home. He wanted to bring a piece of Scotland to Australia, so he designed the castle in a style that mixes Victorian and Gothic architecture.

Over the years, it has been restored to preserve its historic beauty while adapting to modern uses. Today, the castle is a sought-after venue for weddings, events, and, of course, its famous high tea experience.
You can also join a guided tour of the castle, exploring its historic rooms and learning more about its fascinating past. You can take a walk around the grounds and enjoy the gardens. It is a beautiful spot to spend a morning or afternoon.

High Tea, Overnewton Castle
High tea at Overnewton Castle is a treat for the senses and we have been here a few times over the years. Held in the castle’s elegant dining rooms, this event combines old-world sophistication with culinary excellence.

It starts with a glass of sparkling wine or a cup of freshly brewed tea. (We usually go for the sparkling first).
Then the high tea plates come out with a menu that includes a variety of tasty treats, such as sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, mini quiches, and desserts.

Everything is made using fresh ingredients to ensure the best flavours. It’s a perfect way to celebrate a special day or just treat yourself. While you enjoy your high tea, you can take in the views of the gardens and feel like you’ve stepped into another time. If you can’t finish everything don’t worry, they allow you to take your treats home with you so they don’t go to waste.
