Sea World Resort Gold Coast, Family Accommodation Review
If you’re planning a family holiday to the Gold Coast, Sea World Resort is one of those places that makes everything easy.

Sea World Resort Gold Coast
We recently spent five nights at Sea World Resort on the Gold Coast, and absolutely loved it. It is our top pick for family accommodation on the Gold Coast. Great location, fantastic facilities for families, and having Sea World right next door makes it even better. It’s the ideal base for exploring the theme parks or just relaxing with the family.

Facilities
Sea World Resort has everything you need to keep the whole family entertained without even leaving the property. The lagoon-style pool is the centrepiece of the resort, and is huge. It is surrounded by palm trees and lounge chairs with some shaded areas so it is perfect for relaxing in between park visits.

The splash park area is great too. There are water slides, fountains, and tipping buckets and sprinkler type areas to run through. It’s a great space for younger kids especially, with plenty of shaded areas for parents to sit and watch.

The Splash Park areas are just outside some of the family rooms.
For those wanting to stay active, there’s also a fully equipped gym overlooking the pool area. It’s a nice bonus for parents who want to squeeze in a quick workout while the kids are busy at the water play zone.
Rooms
Sea World Resort have a variety of different rooms on all levels to accommodate all family sizes. We stayed in Family Room in the Park Wing which was actually two connecting rooms with two bathrooms and a lounge area, perfect for spreading out. Being on the ground floor meant we could walk straight out to the splash park and pool area which is super convenient.

We saw so many families having coffee outside their room in the mornings while the kids run around in the splash park right in view.
Our room also had sea views, which made it even more relaxing, especially watching the sunset in the evenings. The rooms were clean, modern, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bathrooms had all of your basic toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, hair dryer (not amazing but did the job) and little sample care packs too.
Dining

One of the things we loved most about Sea World Resort was not having to go far for great food. We tried most of the dining options during our stay:
- Hatsuhana Japanese Restaurant – An absolute standout with authentic flavours and a fun experience. The kids loved watching the teppanyaki chefs in action. This is available on certain nights, so you need to check online.
- Shoreline Buffet – Breakfast is served here every day and it was amazing! Everything you could want from the classic bacon and eggs (made your way) to fresh pastries, barista coffees, fruit, salads, and anything in between.
There are also themed dinners here with plenty of kid friendly options. We loved all of the fresh seafood and the deserts were amazing. We all left with very full bellies! - Melrose Restaurant – This place has more of a relaxed vibe when you are looking for something casual, serving up meals like pizzas and pastas etc.
- Aperitivo on the Deck – The perfect spot for a pre dinner drink overlooking the water while the kids run around on the grass area. We had cocktails and appetisers here, all delicious! (Nice watching the sunset here too).
- Waterfall Café – Our go to for easy lunches and snacks between swims. We loved the souvlakis and salads.

Sea World Private Access
Having direct access to Sea World was such a bonus. There’s a private gate just for resort guests, so you can pop in and out whenever you want without having to worry about parking or queues.

Our kids loved being able to go back to the park for another ride or show whenever they felt like it. We spent a few mornings exploring and then came back to relax by the pool in the afternoons.
Speaking to a couple of families with younger children, they told us they went in for a few hours every morning and then came back for lunch and naps in the afternoon. So convenient.
The highlight of our trip was the Family Dolphin Deep Water Adventure. Getting in the water and learning about the dolphins up close was really special and definitely one of those experiences we’ll all remember. The kids are still talking about it and love telling our families and friends about it.

Exploring the Gold Coast
Although you can easily stay at the resort all week, we did venture out for a few day trips to visit some of the other Theme Parks. Movie World, Wet’n’Wild, and Topgolf are all about a 30-minute drive away, so it’s easy to combine Sea World Resort with visits to the others.
After busy days out, it was always nice to come back to the resort for a swim or dinner without having to go far.
Sea World Resort – The Ultimate Family Getaway
Sea World Resort really is a great family holiday spot. Everything is set up to make things simple. From the splash park and pool to the range of dining options and easy access to the theme park we really loved it all.
The staff were friendly, the rooms were comfortable, and there’s so much for kids to do. It’s the kind of place where the kids will have the best time, but parents can actually relax too.
If you are considering staying here make sure to check out the special packages they have online with the accommodation combined with theme park entries, such great deals!
